Eclectic. Selected. Scotland.

Bold! Brash! Brilliant! Listen to Fresh Jam 3 with Scott Murphy….22.3.16 @ 20.00 GMT only on 1320Radio

If you’re tuned in to border-breaking new music, then Fresh Jam 3 is for you.  Scott Murphy presents an astonishing selection of incredibly diverse styles from the brightest jazz sparks in Caledonia and beyond. Fresh Jam 3 goes out on Tuesday night, 22nd March 2016, 20.00 GMT, and it will, as usual, lift the lid on some of the finest, creative, new jazz being made today.

This is the third show so far, and already Scott Murphy’s Fresh Jam has created something of a buzz in Scottish jazz circles. You’ll be hearing brand new music  that you’re unlikely to hear very often elsewhere; including exciting 1320Radio exclusives from the mighty Sugarworks, and the elegantly refined Fergus McCreadie.

Listen out too for stunning tracks from the likes of  Tord Gustavsen, whose latest and critically acclaimed CD What Was Said has been reviewed elsewhere on this site, plus the much-loved Edinburgh funk outfit James Brown Is Annie, and the wildly unhinged World Service Project. Other artists featured include Scots drum and percussion hero Alyn Cosker, the solid Mike Fletcher Trio, the emergent Square One,  the esoteric Quarks and the outstanding Toby Boalch Sextet.
